This post explains how to change/ manage ‘ClearType Text Tuner’ in windows 07. Using this feature you can adjust the readability of your monitor. You will be given several options to change the text display type on your monitor and you can make it the one that suits you most.
To do that, first click on START menu and type ‘tweak’ or ‘cleartype’ in the search bar.
Now, click on ‘Adjust ClearType text’ and you will be given a new window called ‘ClearType Text Tuner’. You can turn it off/on the ClearType in this window. Turn on the ClearType and click ‘Next’.
In this step the system checks whether your monitor is set to its native resolution or not. If not, you will get an option to change it or keep it that way. See the screenshot below. The native resolution of my monitor is 1600×900 but I changed it to 1280×720. So I have been given the option as expected.
Click ‘Next’ and you will enter into a 4-step verification mode to let you choose the visibility of text that suits your eyes most. Keep on choosing and at the end of these steps all the texts in your operating system will be even more clear to you.
